Best in Sew K9 (formerly Stormy Sewing Co.) is a small shop that sews custom gear for service dogs. This notice explains what we collect on bestinsewk9.com, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
When you send the order form
- your name, your email address, how you'd like us to reply, and your social media handle if you give one
- your dog's name, breed, weight, age and measurements
- your theme, colours and other choices, any notes, and the date you need your order by
- any photos you choose to add, such as your dog or an inspiration picture
When you browse the site
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits (which pages, which country, what kind of device) without cookies and without building a profile of you.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect it.
- The spam check on the order form, Cloudflare Turnstile, looks at your browser and IP address to tell people from bots.
Kept only in your own browser, never sent to us
- an order you haven't sent yet, so you can come back to it. It is deleted once you send the order.
- whether you picked the light or the dark look
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell your information.
Why we use it
We use your information because you asked us to make something for you: to answer your order request, make your gear, ship it, and help with repairs or reorders later. We only email you about your order, repairs and similar questions, never newsletters or marketing.
Who else handles it
- Resend sends the order emails (United States).
- Apple iCloud hosts our mailboxes.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and runs the visit counter and the spam check.
- Venmo, PayPal or Zelle process your payment, under their own privacy policies.
- Instagram or Facebook: if you ask us to reply there, that conversation happens on Meta's platform, under its policy.
We don't share your information with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
Photos
Finished gear is photographed on our crafting table and may be shared on our website and social media. We only post photos of your dog with your permission.
How long we keep it
We keep order emails and photos for as long as we need them to make your order, help with repairs and reorders, and keep our business and tax records. Gear can come back for repairs years later, so this can be several years. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will, except for what we have to keep for our records.
Your choices
Email support@bestinsewk9.com to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also object to how we use it, or complain to your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across other websites, so there is nothing for your browser's Do Not Track setting to switch off. Every visit is treated the same way.
18 and over
Our services are for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has sent us their details, email support@bestinsewk9.com and we'll delete them.
Changes
If this notice changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
